Institute of Paramedical Sciences

India has made considerable progress in the field of health as evident by large hospitals that have been built complete with the latest technological gadgets and infrastructure. A boom in the health sector has evidently created a tremendous demand of skilled medical and paramedical staff not only in India but also globally. Paramedical staff is the most important integral part of any health system required for its smooth and efficient functioning. India has become the largest provider of paramedical staff internationally. Having realized the need of qualified paramedics in the field of health care, Manav Sadhan Vikas Sanstha (MSVS) has ventured to start, as usual for the first time in the districts of Sindhudurg and Ratnagiri, an institute known as Institute of Paramedical Sciences for creating this specialized workforce. The State Government has just granted us permission to start such an institute. The institute is expected to help 10th and 12th standard students to chart out a novel career path. From this academic year (2013-14), the Sanstha will conduct three major Paramedical Courses:

1. Certificate Course in Medical Lab Technician (duration two years)

2. Certificate Course in Operation Theatre Assitant (duration one years)

3. Certificate Course in ICU Assistant (duration six months)

MSVS will give admission to 100 students for all the three courses during the current academic year. With several private and public hospitals servicing patients in and around the two districts and also in the neighboring metros like Mumbai, Kolhapur, Pune, Goa, and Belguam in Karnataka, which are well equipped with all modern gadgets and latest technologies backed by team of erudite, experienced and well qualified doctors, these health workers will be much sought after.

MSVS has major plans of introducing some more complimentary job oriented paramedical courses like Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy and Occupation Therapy during the coming years.
